The Königsberger Bridges Institute (KBI) fosters innovation through technology activities that emphasize practical applications of science, technology, and design. KBI is also the official organizer of two flagship competitions:
IDSOL 2025 International Data Science Olympiad
IBCOL 2025 International Blockchain Olympiad
Over the last eight years, KBI has assisted tens of thousands of participants globally from renowned education institutions including Cornell, Cambridge, Peking University, and The University of Hong Kong, representing just a sample of the diverse and exceptional talent participating in our olympiads, leading to the development of more than 500 incubated projects globally.
Königsberger Bridges Institute (KBI) is responsible for organizing the International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) and the International Data Science Olympiad (IDSOL), established in 2017 and 2020, respectively. IBCOL was founded in Waterloo (Canada) and Hong Kong. Throughout the pandemic, many IBCOL initiatives concentrated on identity and credential solutions, which became essential during the era of social distancing. The IDSOL was introduced to gauge interest and proficiency in artificial intelligence and data science. Following the pandemic, IBCOL and IDSOL found significant support in Europe, focusing on responsible innovation and sustainable development, leveraging the regulatory expertise of the EU and aligning closer to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
